Mildreds Camden, 9 Jamestown Road, NW1 7BW. Open 09:00 to 23:00 Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 22:00 Sunday. Budget roughly £25 to £40 a head. Book for weekend brunch. Check the hours before you go, as one listing shows a midday start. The prices are an estimate, because the listings disagree.

What it is

A fully vegan, internationally inspired restaurant a few minutes from Camden Town station, on Jamestown Road, which Camden Market’s journal describes as tucked away from the hustle of Camden High Street. It is a big, bright room with lots of windows and an outdoor dining area. Hot Dinners calls it one of London’s oldest vegan restaurants and describes the dishes as “bright, bold”. The Infatuation rates it 7.5 and calls it reliably friendly and tasty, busy and upbeat, good for anything from a low-key business lunch to a catch-up.

A bit of history

The first Mildreds opened in Soho in 1988. Time Out says veganism back then “may as well have been shamanism”. The Camden branch launched in November 2015, and Camden Market says it went fully plant-based in 2021. There are several Mildreds across London, and the booking page lists Camden, Covent Garden, King’s Cross, Soho and Victoria.

Camden Market also describes a “root to tip” approach: the kitchen aims to be waste-conscious, makes cordials and stocks from excess, and uses organic produce where possible.

What to order

  • Kiri hodi. The Infatuation likes the coconut-loaded Sri Lankan curry with roasted cashews.
  • Kimchi and sweet gochujang gyoza. Another Infatuation pick.
  • Kimchi bokkeumbap with salt-and-pepper tofu. Camden Market highlights it, and it is also listed among the group’s signature dishes.
  • Southern-fried plant “chick+n” burger with mango pepper glaze. Camden Market singles it out. Tripadvisor reviewers in 2026 praise the Korean “chicken” burger, the mushroom burger and chips, and the pumpkin hummus. One suggests “pimping” the fries.
  • Brunch. The Infatuation names buttermilk pancakes and bellinis, priced at £9 in an older review, so check the current price.

What it costs

A Tripadvisor menu snapshot lists olives and guindillas at £4.50, sourdough £5.00, Delica pumpkin hummus £9.00, shiitake whipped silken tofu £9.50, glazed handmade dumplings £10.00 and crispy sambal mushrooms and seitan £12.50. A glass of prosecco is £8.40, and Noughty 0% sparkling is £7.40. TheFork gives an average spend of £38 and lists brunch items including a Full English at £16.50, a golden potato rösti at £15.50 and cauliflower uttapam at £14.

Listings disagree on price bands, so treat £25 to £40 a head as a rough guide. Camden Market mentioned a weekday 12:00 to 18:00 prix fixe (£18 for two courses, £22 for three) and an £8 Camden Cocktail Club in 2023. Ask whether either still runs. Cards are accepted, cash is not.

When to go and how to book

Time Out warns of a queue at weekends, and The Infatuation advises booking ahead for weekend brunch. Brunch was served until 15:00 according to Camden Market in 2023. If you want a calmer table, a weekday is the safer bet. Book through the Mildreds online booking page or phone 020 7482 4200. It is not on the OpenTable booking network. Dogs are welcome, there is wheelchair access, and gluten-free options are listed. Takeaway is by phone, and it is on Deliveroo.

Getting there

Camden Town is the nearest station, about 350 metres away. Hot Dinners includes Mildreds in its best restaurants in Camden and Kentish Town guide, and the full Hot Dinners listing has more.
